Stella is in need of a good home (Courtesy Post)

stella 2

Stella is a gorgeous 16-month-old AKC English Mastiff with a tan coat and a black muzzle. Her family sadly cannot keep her due to a personal matter. We are trying to help them out by finding this beautiful gal a new home. Stella weighs 120 pounds, is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She would do best in a home with “big dog” experience (for instance, she loves people food and, if she can reach it, she’s going to try and eat it). Stella has grown up around children (she currently lives with five of them) and is good with cats. Due to her size, she doesn’t do so well with dogs that are smaller than her or are submissive. Stella loves her people and wants very much to be in contact with her family and, consequently, isn’t a fan of being gated in another room or crated. She is super smart and already knows to do her business outside, and is all over those regular things like “sit”, “stay”, “come”, “lay down” and will happily give you some “paw”. If you are looking for a walking partner, Stella does great on a leash. And if you’d like to play a game of fetch, she is happy to oblige and then snuggle when the day is done. She also happens to be a fan of lounging/sleeping on the couch. So all interested sports fans—you’d have an instant couch potato buddy in her. Update on Opal now Stella

Stella’s Forever Mom had this to say:  Opal, now Stella, is settling in and getting used to a routine. She loves to play and has a variety of amusements to keep her busy. She is going through some basic training. She is a fast learner. She is very affectionate and gives kisses to me whenever she can.
