Keep Your Dog Safe This 4th of July

The 4th of July just wouldn’t be the 4th of July without fireworks. But while we are enjoying the brilliant bursts of color, most dogs aren’t so enthusiastic about the noise and commotion.

Be sure to keep your pup indoors and play calming music or turn up the TV a bit to help drown out the noise. If they feel more comfortable hiding under the bed or in their crate, let them do so. And, even if you have a fenced yard, if your dog needs to go outside to do his/her business, take them out on a leash. It’s not uncommon for a dog to get spooked by fireworks and jump the fence.

Your body language can also tell a dog that there is no reason to be afraid. So remaining calm, cool and collected will go a long way to helping soothe your pooch.
